Barista Time Card Calculator — Timesheet for five early shifts plus both weekend mornings

A weekly time card pre-set the way baristas actually work: five early shifts plus both weekend mornings. Adjust the shifts to your own week — overtime split and gross pay follow instantly.

In short: This card starts from a typical barista week — Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid break (7 paid hours), plus Saturday and Sunday 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM (4 paid hours each) — at $16/hour. That week totals 43:00 hours and $712.00 gross under the federal weekly rule. Change any shift, break or the rate and the whole week recalculates.

How It Works — Overtime for Baristas

The card turns each shift into paid minutes (clock-out minus clock-in, minus unpaid breaks; overnight shifts roll into the next day), then splits the week: the first 40 paid hours are regular, the rest are overtime at 1.5×. Rules summarized from the US Department of Labor (FLSA). Last verified: November 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

I work at two locations of the same coffee company. Do the hours combine?

Yes. Hours for the same employer combine into one workweek total, whichever store you worked them in — 24 hours at one location and 20 at another is a 44-hour week with 4 hours of overtime.

Can my tips be pooled with the shift supervisors?

Tips can be pooled among employees who customarily receive them, but managers and supervisors may never keep any part of a tip pool — even if they worked the bar alongside you.

I am sent home early on slow days. What am I paid?

Federally, only the hours you actually worked (some states and cities add reporting-time pay). Being sent home early reduces the week’s total — rebuild the week with the real hours before comparing paychecks.

How do I check a paycheck?

Keep your own in/out times for the week, rebuild them here, and compare total paid hours, overtime hours and gross with the stub.

Does this card save my week?

Yes — automatically, in your browser’s local storage on this device only. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. Archive a finished week and it stays viewable on the same device (up to 12 archived weeks).

How it works — the formula

The formula: Gross = (regular hours × rate) + (overtime hours × rate × 1.5), where overtime hours are the paid hours beyond 40 in the workweek.

Worked example

The pre-loaded week — Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid break (7 paid hours), plus Saturday and Sunday 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM (4 paid hours each) — is Monday 7 h, Tuesday 7 h, Wednesday 7 h, Thursday 7 h, Friday 7 h, Saturday 4 h, Sunday 4 h: 43:00 paid hours. At the pre-set rate that is 40:00 regular ($640.00) + 3:00 overtime ($72.00) = $712.00 gross before taxes.

Disclaimer: Estimates only — not payroll or legal advice. Your employer's payroll rules and state law control your actual pay. Figures are rounded for display; your pay stub and payroll department are the official record.
