Landscaper Time Card Calculator — Timesheet for five 8-hour days plus a Saturday catch-up

A weekly time card pre-set the way landscapers actually work: five 8-hour days plus a Saturday catch-up. Adjust the shifts to your own week — overtime split and gross pay follow instantly.

In short: This card starts from a typical landscaper week — Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a 60-minute unpaid break (8 paid hours), plus Saturday 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM (5 paid hours) — at $18/hour. That week totals 45:00 hours and $855.00 gross under the federal weekly rule. Change any shift, break or the rate and the whole week recalculates.

How It Works — Overtime for Landscapers

The card turns each shift into paid minutes (clock-out minus clock-in, minus unpaid breaks; overnight shifts roll into the next day), then splits the week: the first 40 paid hours are regular, the rest are overtime at 1.5×. Rules summarized from the US Department of Labor (FLSA). Last verified: November 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the ride from the shop to the first property count?

Usually yes, when you are required to report to the shop first and travel in the company vehicle as part of the crew’s work. Driving your own car straight from home to the first site is the ordinary unpaid commute.

Are landscapers covered by the farm-worker overtime exemption?

No. The federal agricultural exemption covers farming operations, not landscape services — landscapers are owed overtime past 40 hours in a week like other non-exempt workers. (Nursery and greenhouse work can be genuinely agricultural; pure landscaping is not.)

I am an H-2B seasonal worker. Do I get overtime?

Yes — H-2B workers are employees under the FLSA with the same minimum wage and overtime rights. Your job order also sets a promised rate and a three-quarter guarantee of hours that are worth checking against your stubs.

How do I check a paycheck after a rain-shortened week?

Rebuild the week here with the hours you actually worked each day, then compare total paid hours, overtime hours and gross with the stub.

Does this card save my week?

Yes — automatically, in your browser’s local storage on this device only. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. Archive a finished week and it stays viewable on the same device (up to 12 archived weeks).

How it works — the formula

The formula: Gross = (regular hours × rate) + (overtime hours × rate × 1.5), where overtime hours are the paid hours beyond 40 in the workweek.

Worked example

The pre-loaded week — Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a 60-minute unpaid break (8 paid hours), plus Saturday 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM (5 paid hours) — is Monday 8 h, Tuesday 8 h, Wednesday 8 h, Thursday 8 h, Friday 8 h, Saturday 5 h: 45:00 paid hours. At the pre-set rate that is 40:00 regular ($720.00) + 5:00 overtime ($135.00) = $855.00 gross before taxes.

Disclaimer: Estimates only — not payroll or legal advice. Your employer's payroll rules and state law control your actual pay. Figures are rounded for display; your pay stub and payroll department are the official record.
