Plumber Time Card Calculator — Timesheet for five 8-hour days plus a Saturday morning

A weekly time card pre-set the way plumbers actually work: five 8-hour days plus a Saturday morning. Adjust the shifts to your own week — overtime split and gross pay follow instantly.

In short: This card starts from a typical plumber week — Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid break (8 paid hours), plus Saturday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (4 paid hours) — at $27/hour. That week totals 44:00 hours and $1,242.00 gross under the federal weekly rule. Change any shift, break or the rate and the whole week recalculates.

How It Works — Overtime for Plumbers

The card turns each shift into paid minutes (clock-out minus clock-in, minus unpaid breaks; overnight shifts roll into the next day), then splits the week: the first 40 paid hours are regular, the rest are overtime at 1.5×. Rules summarized from the US Department of Labor (FLSA). Last verified: November 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am paid per job, not per hour. Do I still get overtime?

Usually yes. Piece-rate and flat-rate pay do not remove overtime rights: your regular rate is the week’s total earnings divided by the hours you actually worked, and hours past 40 are owed an extra half of that rate per hour.

Does a night emergency call count toward my 40?

Yes — every hour you work counts toward the same workweek total, whenever it happens. A Saturday-night call-out after a full week is normally all overtime. Only time genuinely spent waiting at home with few restrictions may fall outside hours worked.

Can my employer average a slow week against a busy week?

No. Each workweek stands alone under federal law: 44 hours in one week and 36 in the next is still 4 hours of overtime in the first week, even on a biweekly paycheck.

How do I check a paycheck with call-outs?

Rebuild the week here including every call-out, then compare total paid hours, overtime hours, and the overtime rate (1.5× your regular rate) with the stub.

Does this card save my week?

Yes — automatically, in your browser’s local storage on this device only. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. Archive a finished week and it stays viewable on the same device (up to 12 archived weeks).

How it works — the formula

The formula: Gross = (regular hours × rate) + (overtime hours × rate × 1.5), where overtime hours are the paid hours beyond 40 in the workweek.

Worked example

The pre-loaded week — Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid break (8 paid hours), plus Saturday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (4 paid hours) — is Monday 8 h, Tuesday 8 h, Wednesday 8 h, Thursday 8 h, Friday 8 h, Saturday 4 h: 44:00 paid hours. At the pre-set rate that is 40:00 regular ($1,080.00) + 4:00 overtime ($162.00) = $1,242.00 gross before taxes.

Disclaimer: Estimates only — not payroll or legal advice. Your employer's payroll rules and state law control your actual pay. Figures are rounded for display; your pay stub and payroll department are the official record.
