End-of-service gratuity under Article 61 of the Omani Labour Law (Royal Decree 53/2023). Because the law changed on 1 August 2023, this calculator splits your service at that date and applies each law to its own period.
In short: service from 1 August 2023 earns one month of your last basic wage per year. Earlier service earns 15 days per year for the first three years and one month per year after, under the old law. There is no minimum-service threshold and no reduction for resigning.
| Total length of service | — |
| Service before 1 Aug 2023 (old law) | — |
| Old-law gratuity (15 days × 3 yrs, then 1 month/yr) | — |
| Service from 1 Aug 2023 (new law) | — |
| New-law gratuity (1 month per year) | — |
Worked example: basic salary OMR 1,000, service 1 Jan 2020 – 1 Jan 2026. Pre-Aug-2023 service ≈ 3.58 years → 0.5 × 3 + 0.58 = 2.08 months = OMR 2,081; post-Aug-2023 service ≈ 2.42 years → OMR 2,420; total ≈ OMR 4,501 (exact figure in the calculator above, using your precise dates).
From 1 Aug 2023: one month of last basic wage per year. Before that date: 15 days per year for the first three years, one month per year after — both parts on the last basic wage.
Basic wage only, for both parts. Allowances are excluded.
