Moodboard Maker — Free Mood Boards with Photos, Swatches & Notes

In short: the Moodboard Maker is a free-arrangement board — unlike the fixed-grid Collage Maker, you place photos anywhere, overlap them, add colour swatch blocks and typed notes, and export the board as one image.

Designers think in moodboards: the look and feel of a brand, a room or a wedding gathered on one surface before any decisions. Drag things around until it feels right — that is the tool working.

Click a block to select it, drag to move, drag its bottom-right corner to resize. Layers: use Send backward / Bring forward.

Private by design: everything in this tool happens 100% in your browser with JavaScript. Your data, photos and designs are never uploaded to a server, never stored and never seen by us - close the tab and everything is gone.

How to use the Moodboard Maker

  1. Pick a size and a starter template — every template is fully editable, nothing is locked.
  2. Click any text, shape or photo block to edit it: drag to move, drag the corner to resize, restyle in the editor below the canvas.
  3. Add your own photo blocks and background, arrange layers with Send backward / Bring forward.
  4. Download the PNG at the exact size you picked, or use Print / Save as PDF for paper copies.

How it works

Free placement is the point: photo blocks move, resize and layer independently (Send backward / Bring forward), and rectangle blocks make instant colour swatches — set their colour in the editor. Pair it with the Collage Maker when you want a strict grid instead.

Worked example

An bride-to-be gathers dress photos, venue shots, three gold-and-teal swatches and her notes on one board — the wedding’s whole look decided in an evening.

Frequently Asked Questions

Moodboard or collage — which do I need?

A collage is a finished picture in a fixed grid. A moodboard is a working surface: free positions, overlaps, swatches and notes. Different tools for different moments.

How do I add colour swatches?

Add a rectangle block and set its colour — a row of them makes your palette strip.

Can photos overlap?

Yes — layers are yours to order with the forward/backward buttons.

Is it free?

Yes — free, private, watermark-free.
