Chart Maker — Free Bar, Line, Pie & Doughnut Charts
Reports, homework, budgets and presentations all need the same thing: numbers people can understand at a glance. Type your figures into the editable grid — or paste CSV — choose a chart type, and download a crisp PNG for your document, slides or social post.
How to use the Chart Maker
- Type your labels and numbers into the grid, or paste CSV into the box below the chart and press Apply CSV.
- Pick a chart type: bar or line for comparisons and trends, pie or doughnut for shares of a total (they use the first series).
- Set the chart title, toggle the legend, and give each series its own colour.
- Press Download chart as PNG and drop the image into your document, slides or post. Use Copy my data as CSV to save your figures for later.
How it works
The chart is drawn by hand on an HTML canvas — no chart library and no server. Values are scaled against a rounded "nice" maximum (1, 2, 2.5, 5 or 10 times a power of ten) so axis labels stay readable. Pie and doughnut slices are exact proportions of the series total: each slice angle is value ÷ total × 360 degrees. Everything is computed locally, so your numbers never leave your device.
Worked example
A class teacher enters monthly test averages — Jan 62, Feb 68, Mar 71, Apr 75 — as one series and the class target as a second series. The line chart shows progress crossing the target in April, and the PNG goes straight into the school report.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this chart maker free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermarks and no limit on how many charts you make.
Are my numbers uploaded anywhere?
No. The chart is drawn 100% in your browser. Your data never leaves your device.
Which chart type should I use?
Use bars to compare categories, lines for change over time, and pie or doughnut charts for parts of one total (they show the first data series).
Can I paste data from a spreadsheet?
Yes — copy cells from Excel or Google Sheets and paste them into the CSV box, then press Apply CSV. The first row should hold series names, the first column the labels.
What size is the exported PNG?
The chart exports at 920 × 560 pixels, crisp enough for documents, slides and social posts.
