Frequently Asked Questions

What quality should I choose?

Standard (1.5x) is great for screens and sharing. High (2x) suits documents you may zoom into, and Print (3x) gives the sharpest images.

Can I convert only one page?

The tool converts all pages and gives you a separate download link per page, so you can simply take the ones you need.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Rendering happens locally in your browser with PDF.js.

Why do the JPGs have a white background?

JPG does not support transparency, so pages are placed on white - exactly like the printed page.

How it works

PDF.js - the library your browser uses to display PDFs - loads the file locally on your device and draws every page onto an invisible canvas at the resolution you pick: 1.5, 2 or 3 times the page's natural size. For JPG output the canvas is first painted white (JPG has no transparency), then exported as a JPEG image at high quality. Each page becomes its own download link, named after your file - for example report-page3.jpg. Nothing is uploaded: the rendering happens entirely in this tab, and closing the tab erases everything.

Worked example

A teacher has a 5-page worksheet PDF and needs page 2 as a picture for a WhatsApp group. She selects the file, chooses Print (3x) so the text stays sharp when parents zoom in, and clicks Convert. Five JPG links appear - she downloads only page 2, a crisp image roughly 1785 x 2525 pixels from an A4 original, and shares it. The other four links are simply ignored.

Frequently asked questions

What pixel size will my JPGs be?

It depends on the page size of your PDF and the quality you choose. An A4 page is 595 x 842 points, so Standard (1.5x) gives about 893 x 1263 pixels, High (2x) about 1190 x 1684, and Print (3x) about 1785 x 2526 - plenty for printing at A4.

Can I download all the pages in one ZIP file?

No. The tool creates a separate download link for each page and there is no ZIP option. The advantage is that you only save the pages you actually need - just click each link for the ones you want.

Will the text in the JPG still be selectable or searchable?

No. Each page becomes a flat picture, so text cannot be selected, copied or searched inside the image. If you need the words themselves, use our PDF to Text tool instead.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

No. A protected PDF cannot be opened for rendering until it is unlocked. Remove the password in your usual PDF reader first, then convert the unlocked copy here.

What happens with a very long PDF?

Pages are rendered one after another and the progress bar shows how far it has got. A document with hundreds of pages at Print quality can take a while and uses more memory, so for very large files Standard or High quality is the safer choice.

Does converting change my original PDF?

No. The tool only reads your file. The original stays exactly as it was on your device - the JPGs are brand-new files.
