Rotate PDF Pages Online - Free
Scanned documents love to come out sideways. Instead of tilting your head (or your phone) forever, rotate the pages once and save a fixed PDF that opens the right way up in every reader.
How to rotate PDF pages
- Choose the PDF with the wrongly-turned pages.
- Pick the angle - 90, 180 or 270 degrees - and optionally limit it to a page range like 2-4.
- Click "Rotate PDF" and download the corrected document.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the rotation permanent?
Yes. The page rotation is written into the saved file, so every reader and printer shows the pages the new way.
Can I rotate just some pages?
Yes. Enter a range such as 2-4 (or single pages like 1, 3) in the pages box; leave it empty to rotate all pages.
Does rotation change quality?
No. Only the orientation flag of each page changes - content is untouched.
My pages are mixed - some right, some wrong. What then?
Rotate in two passes: first fix the majority, then run the file again rotating only the remaining pages.

How it works
PDF pages carry a built-in rotation setting that tells every reader and printer which way up to show them. This tool loads your file locally with pdf-lib, adds the angle you chose - 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise - to that stored setting for all pages, or only for the page range you type, and saves the result as a new file with -rotated added to its name. Only the orientation setting changes: the page content itself is not redrawn, re-compressed or touched in any way, so quality and file size stay effectively identical, and everything happens in your browser with no upload.
Worked example
A clerk scans a 10-page application form, but pages 3, 4 and 5 went through the scanner sideways. He loads the PDF, leaves the angle at 90 degrees clockwise, types 3-5 in the pages box, and clicks Rotate PDF. The downloaded form-rotated.pdf shows those three pages upright everywhere - reader, phone and printer - while the other seven pages are untouched.
Frequently asked questions
Are the angles clockwise or anti-clockwise?
All three angles turn clockwise, as labelled. If a page needs to turn the other way, choose 270 degrees clockwise - that is the same as 90 degrees anti-clockwise.
What if a page was already rotated in the file?
The new angle is added to whatever rotation the page already has, and the total wraps around at 360 degrees. So a page already stored at 90 degrees, rotated by 270, ends up back at 0 - upright with no rotation.
Does the file get bigger or lose quality?
Neither, in any meaningful way. Only a small rotation value in each page's settings changes; text, images and fonts are carried over exactly, so the file size stays almost the same.
Can I rotate a PDF on my phone?
Yes. The tool runs in any modern mobile browser, and the processing happens on the phone itself. Pick the file from your storage, set the angle, and the corrected PDF downloads to the device.
I rotated the wrong way - can I undo it?
Your original file is never modified - rotation is written only into the new downloaded copy. Either re-run the original with the opposite angle (270 instead of 90, and vice versa), or rotate the new file by the remaining amount to reach 360 in total.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
No. Protection prevents the file from being opened and re-saved. Remove the password in your usual PDF reader first, then rotate the unlocked copy here.
