Text to PDF Online - Free

In short: the Text to PDF tool turns typed or pasted text into a properly formatted PDF document, with your choice of font size and page size, wrapped and paginated automatically.

Notes, essays, letters and drafts often need to become a PDF before they can be submitted or shared. Paste your text here, pick a font size, and get a tidy multi-page PDF that looks right on any device.

Private by design: your files are processed 100% in your browser with JavaScript. They are never uploaded to a server, never stored and never seen by us - close the tab and everything is gone.

How to convert text to PDF

  1. Type or paste your text into the box.
  2. Choose a font size and page size (A4 or Letter).

Frequently Asked Questions

Which fonts are used?

The PDF uses Helvetica, a clean built-in font that every PDF reader displays correctly without extra downloads.

Can I write in Urdu or Arabic script?

Standard PDF fonts do not include Urdu/Arabic glyphs, so right-to-left scripts are not supported in this tool - Latin-script languages work fully.

Is my text saved anywhere?

No. The PDF is generated in your browser and your text disappears when you close the tab.

Can I add page numbers afterwards?

Yes - run the result through our Add Page Numbers tool to stamp numbers in your favourite style.

How it works

Type or paste plain text and the tool typesets it into a PDF for you, in your browser, using pdf-lib. It measures every word with the built-in Helvetica font and wraps lines to fit the text area of your chosen page size - A4 or Letter, with fixed margins of about 2 cm and comfortable line spacing of 1.4 times the font size. Blank lines in your text are kept as paragraph gaps, and when a page fills up the text simply flows onto the next one until everything is placed. You pick the font size (10 to 16 pt) and the file name; the finished PDF downloads immediately, and your text never leaves the device.

Worked example

A student finishes a 900-word essay in a notes app and needs to submit it as a PDF. She pastes the text in, keeps the default 12 pt on A4, names the file english-essay.pdf, and clicks Create PDF. The essay comes out neatly wrapped across 3 pages, paragraphs intact, ready to upload to the class portal.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make headings bold or change fonts?

No. The tool produces clean, uniform plain text in Helvetica at the one size you choose - there are no bold, italic, heading or font controls. For styled documents, write in a word processor and export its PDF instead.

How much text can I paste?

There is no fixed character or page limit in the tool. The text flows onto as many pages as it needs - a full chapter or a long report is fine, since the PDF is built locally on your device.

Are my paragraph breaks preserved?

Yes. Each line break you type starts a new line, and an empty line becomes a visible gap, so paragraphs stay separated exactly as you wrote them. Words never break mid-line unless a single word is longer than the whole page width.

Can I adjust the margins or line spacing?

Not in this tool - margins are fixed at about 2 cm (56 points) on every side and line spacing at 1.4 times the font size, values chosen to suit most essays, letters and assignments.

Which special characters work?

Common Latin-script characters - including accented letters such as é, ü and ñ, and symbols like the euro sign - are drawn correctly by the built-in font. Characters from scripts such as Urdu, Arabic or Chinese cannot be drawn by standard PDF fonts and are not supported.

Can I edit the PDF text afterwards?

The PDF contains real, selectable text, so any PDF editor can change it later. The simplest route is to keep your original text, edit that, and create a fresh PDF here - it takes seconds.
