Carousel Splitter — Slice Wide Images into Swipeable Panels
Designers make one long canvas and post it as a carousel that swipes like a panorama. This tool is the slicing half of that workflow: bring the wide image, leave with numbered panels.
How to use the Carousel Splitter
- Upload your wide image — a long infographic, panorama or designed carousel canvas.
- Choose panel shape: 4:5 portrait (tallest in the feed) or square.
- The plan line tells you how many panels your image makes. Download the ZIP.
- Post panel 1, 2, 3… in order as one carousel post.
How it works
The panel count is computed, not guessed: panel width = image height × aspect, and the count is the rounded number of panels that fit the width (clamped to 2–10), centred so side trimmings are equal. Panels are cut from the original pixels.
Worked example
A teacher designs one long "Journey of Water" strip, slices it into six 4:5 panels, and posts a carousel that students swipe like a storybook.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many panels will I get?
It depends on your image’s proportions — the plan line under the preview states the count before you download. Wider image, more panels (max 10, the platform carousel limit).
4:5 or square panels?
4:5 fills more of the phone screen and is the modern default; square suits images designed around a square crop.
Will the seams show?
Panels are adjacent slices with no gaps or overlaps, so a continuous image swipes seamlessly.
Is my image uploaded?
Never — slicing and zipping happen in your browser.
