Image Format Converter โ€” JPG, PNG & WebP

Convert photos and graphics between JPG, PNG and WebP โ€” one at a time or a whole batch at once โ€” with quality control and a background colour for transparent images. Everything runs in your browser: your images are never uploaded.

Select several JPG, PNG or WebP images at once. Each one converts on its own, or convert them all together.

Add at least one image to begin.

How to convert image formats in 3 steps

  1. Add your images โ€” drop them above or click to browse and select several at once. Nothing is uploaded; the images stay on your device.
  2. Choose the target format and quality โ€” JPG, PNG or WebP, a quality level for JPG and WebP, and the background colour used when a transparent PNG becomes a JPG (JPEG has no transparency, so the see-through areas are filled with this colour).
  3. Convert and download โ€” convert each image with its own button, or convert and download the whole batch at once. The result size and the percentage saved (or grown) are shown for every file.

About JPG, PNG and WebP

The three everyday image formats trade size against features. JPG compresses photographs very efficiently and is accepted everywhere โ€” exam portals, email, government forms โ€” but it has no transparency and loses a little quality every save. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which makes it right for logos, screenshots and text, but photo files are large. WebP, developed by Google, usually beats JPG on size at the same quality and supports transparency too, though a few older systems still cannot open it.

Converting between them is a daily need: a portal that only accepts JPG, a logo that must stay transparent in PNG, a website that wants WebP for speed. This converter handles a whole batch at once, draws each image onto a canvas at its original pixel size, flattens transparency onto your chosen background colour when the target is JPG, and reports exactly how much each file shrank or grew โ€” so you can pick a lower quality and try again if a portal has a strict KB limit.

How it works

Each image is loaded into the browser and drawn at natural size onto a canvas. If the plan for that conversion needs a background (a transparent image going to JPG), the canvas is first filled with your background colour. The canvas is then exported in the target format with your quality setting, and the new file size is compared with the original.

Worked example

A transparent PNG logo of 480 KB converted to JPG at 90% quality is flattened onto white and comes out at about 60 KB โ€” the row shows "โˆ’87% saved". The same file converted to WebP keeps its transparency and lands near 90 KB. Exact results depend on the image content, and every row shows the real numbers for your files.

Frequently asked questions

Is this image format converter free?

Yes โ€” completely free, with no signup, no watermark and no limit on the number of images you convert.

What happens to transparency when I convert PNG to JPG?

JPEG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick (white by default). Converting to PNG or WebP keeps the transparency intact.

Does converting reduce image quality?

PNG output is lossless. JPG and WebP use adjustable lossy compression โ€” at the default 90% quality the result is visually identical for photographs, and you can raise it to 100% or lower it when a file-size limit matters more.

Can I convert many images at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like; each row converts and downloads on its own, and the "Convert all & download all" button runs through the whole list one after another.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. Conversion happens 100% in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.

Which format should I choose?

JPG for photographs and forms that need small files, PNG for logos, screenshots and anything with transparency or sharp text, and WebP for websites where the smallest sharp file wins and the audience uses modern browsers.
