Area Chart Maker — Free Filled Area Charts
An area chart keeps the trend of a line chart but adds weight: the filled region makes growth feel real. Perfect for cumulative stories and stacked attention.
How to use the Area Chart Maker
- Type your labels and numbers into the grid, or paste CSV into the box below the chart and press Apply CSV.
- Adjust the title, legend and per-series colours until the chart reads clearly at a glance.
- Press Download chart as PNG and drop the image into your document, slides or post. Use Copy my data as CSV to save your figures for later.
How it works
Each series is drawn as a line with a translucent fill down to the baseline, so overlapping series stay visible. The axis scales to a rounded maximum of all values. The chart is drawn by hand on an HTML canvas by Loona’s shared chart engine — no chart library and no server. Everything is computed locally, so your numbers never leave your device.
Worked example
A savings coach charts two clients’ growing emergency funds. The widening filled areas make four weeks of progress feel tangible in the progress report.
Frequently Asked Questions
Area chart vs line chart?
Use an area chart when the amount itself matters (volume, totals); use a plain line when comparing several trends precisely.
Do overlapping areas hide data?
Fills are translucent, so a series behind another still shows through. Order series with the largest last for the clearest view.
Can I paste CSV?
Yes — paste into the CSV box and press Apply CSV.
Is it free and private?
Yes — free, no sign-up, and your numbers never leave your device.
