Bar Chart Maker — Free Online Bar Charts
Comparing sales by month, marks by subject or votes by candidate? Bars make the biggest and smallest obvious in one glance. Enter your numbers and download a clean chart in under a minute.
How to use the Bar Chart Maker
- Type your labels and numbers into the grid, or paste CSV into the box below the chart and press Apply CSV.
- Adjust the title, legend and per-series colours until the chart reads clearly at a glance.
- Press Download chart as PNG and drop the image into your document, slides or post. Use Copy my data as CSV to save your figures for later.
How it works
Bars are scaled against a rounded "nice" maximum (1, 2, 2.5, 5 or 10 times a power of ten), so the axis always lands on readable numbers. With two or more series, bars are grouped side by side in your chosen colours. The chart is drawn by hand on an HTML canvas by Loona’s shared chart engine — no chart library and no server. Everything is computed locally, so your numbers never leave your device.
Worked example
A shopkeeper charts weekly sales for two branches. The grouped bars show Branch B overtaking Branch A in week 3, and the PNG goes into the monthly review.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I use a bar chart?
Whenever you compare values across categories — months, products, classes, candidates. For change over time, a line chart often reads better.
Can I compare two groups?
Yes — add a second series with Add series and the bars group side by side with a legend.
Can I paste from Excel?
Yes — copy the cells, paste into the CSV box and press Apply CSV.
Is my data uploaded?
No — the chart is drawn entirely in your browser.
