Column Chart Maker — Free Vertical Column Charts
Column charts are the workhorse of reports and slides: one tall column per category, height doing all the talking. Type, style and export — done.
How to use the Column Chart Maker
- Type your labels and numbers into the grid, or paste CSV into the box below the chart and press Apply CSV.
- Adjust the title, legend and per-series colours until the chart reads clearly at a glance.
- Press Download chart as PNG and drop the image into your document, slides or post. Use Copy my data as CSV to save your figures for later.
How it works
Columns rise from a zero baseline scaled to a rounded maximum, so heights stay honest and comparable. Multiple series are placed side by side per category. The chart is drawn by hand on an HTML canvas by Loona’s shared chart engine — no chart library and no server. Everything is computed locally, so your numbers never leave your device.
Worked example
A teacher compares average marks of four subjects as columns; the tallest (English) and shortest (Maths) start exactly the right conversation at the parents meeting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Bar chart or column chart — what is the difference?
They show the same data: columns are vertical, bars are horizontal. Columns suit few categories with short labels; horizontal bars suit many categories or long names.
How many categories can I add?
As many rows as you like with Add row — the columns narrow to fit. For very long lists, try the Horizontal Bar Maker.
Can I change column colours?
Yes — every series has its own colour picker under the table.
Is it free?
Completely — no sign-up, no watermark, no upload.
