Grammar Quiz — 24 Questions, Every Answer Explained
Most grammar practice tells you right or wrong and leaves the "why" a mystery. Every question here carries its explanation, so a wrong answer becomes a one-line lesson instead of a dead end. The bank is fixed and hand-checked, written for learners at roughly A2–B2 level.
How to Use It
- Start the quiz — all 24 questions appear at once, in a fixed order from core tenses to trickier patterns.
- Answer every question (unanswered questions count as wrong).
- See your score: each question is marked, the correct answer is shown, and the explanation tells you the rule.
- Retake after reviewing: the learning is in the second attempt — aim to explain each rule aloud before answering.
How It Works
The question bank is embedded in the page — 24 hand-written items across twelve grammar areas, two per area — and scoring is exact-match against the key. Explanations are part of the bank itself, displayed in the review whether you were right (as confirmation) or wrong (as the lesson). Nothing is generated by AI and nothing adapts: the same fair test for every student, which is what makes scores comparable between attempts.
Frequently Asked Questions
What level is this quiz?
Roughly CEFR A2–B2 (upper school and general learners). Native-level subtleties and rare exceptions are deliberately excluded — every item has one clearly defensible answer.
Is this an official English level test?
No — it is a practice quiz with a fixed bank, not a certification. It is a good indicator of grammar control at school level; formal placement needs a full test with reading, listening and speaking sections.
Why explanations for correct answers too?
Because a right answer can be a lucky guess. The explanation confirms the rule you used — or reveals that you guessed, which is useful honesty.
