Math Worksheet Generator โ Printable Worksheets with Answer Keys
Photocopied worksheets run out; this generator never does. Every click creates a brand-new, randomised sheet at exactly the difficulty you choose โ gentle no-carry addition for beginners, or full regrouping, remainders and long division for older students.
Answer Key
How to Use It
- Pick the operation โ addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, mixed, fractions, decimals or long division.
- Set the range and count: smallest and largest numbers, and 10โ50 questions.
- Regrouping: untick the regrouping box for addition/subtraction sheets with no carrying or borrowing โ ideal for first practice.
- Division: by default division answers may include remainders (written as e.g. 3 r 2); tick "exact answers only" for clean division.
- Generate as many times as you like โ every sheet is different. Then print the worksheet, and print the answer key separately for marking.
How It Works
Questions are generated by tested algorithms, not typed by hand: subtraction always swaps the numbers so answers are never negative; with regrouping off, addition is built digit-by-digit so no column ever carries, and subtraction is built so no column ever borrows; division is built backwards from a chosen divisor and quotient, so the answer (and remainder, when allowed) is exact by construction; fraction questions use matching denominators and answers are simplified; decimal questions use one decimal place and answers are rounded exactly. A separate answer key is rendered from the same data, so the key always matches the sheet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are subtraction answers ever negative?
Never. The generator always puts the larger number first, so every subtraction answer is zero or positive โ exactly what young learners expect.
What does "no regrouping" mean?
With regrouping off, addition questions never need carrying and subtraction questions never need borrowing โ every column can be worked out on its own. It is the gentlest difficulty level. Turn regrouping on for normal, full-difficulty questions.
How are division remainders shown?
In the answer key as, for example, 17 รท 5 = 3 r 2. If you prefer only exact divisions, tick "Division: exact answers only" before generating.
Is there a fractions option?
Yes โ the Fractions operation creates addition questions with matching denominators, and the key shows simplified answers. Decimals (one decimal place, addition) and long-division practice are also included.
Can I use these worksheets in my classroom or for tutoring?
Yes โ print as many as you need for your students, free. The worksheets carry no watermark.
