Unjumble Sentences โ Put the Words Back in Order
Word order is where grammar becomes visible: a learner who can rebuild "The cat sat on the mat" from shuffled words understands sentence structure in a way gap-fills never quite teach.
How to Use It
- Type your sentences, one per line โ at least three words each. Your own sentences from this week's lesson work best.
- Start: the first sentence appears as shuffled word chips.
- Tap words in order to build the sentence in the box. Undo removes the last word if you change your mind.
- Check: correct sentences score and move on; wrong ones show the right sentence before continuing.
How It Works
Sentences are split on spaces and shuffled with a retry loop that guarantees the shuffled order is never accidentally the correct one. Your built sentence is compared word-for-word with the original, so punctuation attached to words (like a full stop) travels with its word โ write sentences the way you want them rebuilt.
Frequently Asked Questions
What sentences work best?
Five to ten words, one clear correct order. Avoid sentences where two orders are both natural ("Yesterday we went" vs "We went yesterday") โ the game can only accept the order you typed.
Can I use it for other languages?
Yes โ it works for any language written with spaces between words, including Urdu sentences typed in Roman or Urdu script.
Why does it show the answer after a mistake?
Because the learning happens in seeing the correct order immediately, while the attempt is fresh โ not in being stuck.
